Wicked Day

On Thursday, I “escaped” up to London for the afternoon as DD1 is home from uni for an Easter visit. DH already had the afternoon off but a power failure mean the office was evacuated and he met me at Victoria. We walked past Buckingham Palace and the park to Trafalgar Square to have lunch in The Crypt at St Martin’s in the Fields, which is the Royal Family’s parish church when in London.

Lots more walking and window shopping – I honestly bought no fabric but I did enjoy visiting Liberty’s and John Lewis! Then the tube back to Victoria in search of an early dinner at Bella Italia. A quick look in WHS and I was thrilled to find a copy of Cloth, Paper, Scissors magazine (very hard to find locally! DH has been told that he’ll need to come home via Victoria once a month so that I can also have Quilting Arts…)

Then we had been lucky enough to get tickets for Wicked – the best musical in town! DD2 had a school trip a few years ago but was late and missed most of the first half due to traffic. I enjoyed the evening so much that if I win a few millions on the lottery, I’ll buy all those poor pupils a seat to see the whole thing! Better buy a ticket…

About sheppeylass

Mum of 4, I live on the Isle of Sheppey in Kent. I've always sewn but the quilting bug snagged me a couple of years ago and now, with the encouragement of my artist husband, I'm spreading my wings into textile art.
