Project Bag

I have an extremely long list of projects to get through – UFO’s, want-to-do’s, monthly challenges from various groups, brithday presents, you know the kind of thing. I sat down on Sunday to start cutting fabric for a mystery quilt which I’ll be making at my fortnightly quilt group in Sittingbourne, Pieceful Patchers. I cut out the required squares (first installment is to make HST’s), then wondered what I’d keep everything in… oh, I know what to do, I’ll make a new bag! So I did…ImageI used some spotty fabrics from a swap and added some more of my own. Very simple quilting (I even put my hand into the cottons box and just used the first thread that came out – orange!) and found some more spots for the binding. A velcro fastening and a loop on the back for hanging, A hunt through my buttonbox produced this lovely one from my friend Tessa as ther perfect finishing touch.

And no, I have yet to make the HST’s…

About sheppeylass

Mum of 4, I live on the Isle of Sheppey in Kent. I've always sewn but the quilting bug snagged me a couple of years ago and now, with the encouragement of my artist husband, I'm spreading my wings into textile art.
