We headed down to Deal on Saturday for the biannual show held in St George’s Hall, just off the High Street. Some gorgeous quilts, a raffle, a cushion tombola (little one won a pincushion to add to her sewing bag!), two traders and a group stall where I bought some old magazines and scrap bags to add to little one’s stash. (And some scraps were almost a full fat quarter so a bargain!) And of course, cake to have with coffee – wouldn’t be a quilt show without it, now would it???
Afterwards, a wander along the High Street, which still has proper independant shops and not just chain stores. DH’s eyes lit up as he spotted an airfix kit in the stationer’s window so we HAD to go in! As well as the two kits he finally chose, little one got a new toy dog and a kit to build a roman colusseum. (Well, we are “doing” the Romans this term!) Then a stroll along the pier before finding some lunch and a wander around the market – and a mad dash to the car to avoid the rain!
A lovely way to spend our wedding anniversary (our 23rd!) – and even better, we got takeaway for dinner so no cooking before settling down to watch The King’s Speech on dvd. 🙂
