Oops, we went to Whitstable yesterday for a quilt show and I completely forgot to take photos of quilts! So this a is a snap of my purchases, some gorgeous fat quarters and some thread to try in my Birthday Butterflies quilt. I spent almost 2 episodes of Misommer Murders the other night unpicking 2 machine quilted butterflies but I’m determined to make it all hand quilted.
Parking is an issue so we set off early and were lucky to use charity parking in the school which is on the High Street. Not far to the show then a wander into town. I left DH and little one at the model shop and browsed some chairty shops then they found me in the sewing shop, where I’d remembered I needed more quilting needles! 🙂 Then we headed up to the harbour for some fish and chips.
Whitstable is famous for its’ oysters. Little one was tempted by this pile of shells but as I pointed out, there are plenty on the beach here at home, and in our garden too! Here is what I spotted just around the corner from the pile:
Actually, these were in competition with the fantastic one I’d spotted in the bike shop earlier ala Cath Kidston!
Yesterday was carnival day in Whitstable. We didn’t stay for the parade but we enjoyed the decorated shop windows. This was my favourite:
Then it was home for an evening handquilting with my (aching!) feet up.
