2011 HOKH Maidstone Quilt Show

Wow  – another success! Lots of very happy ladies enjoying lots of quilts today. This is an annual exhibition of quilts run by Sandra Rocco in aid of the Heart of Kent Hospice and local quilters are invited to display their quilts. Various raffles and tombolas raise extra funds and there are traders too. Refreshments are next door and there are tables outside to enjoy the sun. Here are some of my pictures from today:

This is the entrance to the North Barn where the show is held. Once through the door, there are quilts EVERYWHERE, even hanging from the rafters!

It was a surprise to see that Ferrett had some pieces on display. This dragon was little one’s favourite!

When I had finished looking at all the quilts and NOT spending any money with the traders (although I was sorely tempted! 🙂 ) I went outside to find DH and little one. He was sitting at a table in the sun and she was off on her own, busy making a heart lavender bag with the Young Quilters! Only a little help required and she has now joined too. How could Mummy refuse when it’s currently free membership???? Little one did well today – she didn’t win at the tombolas stand  she came away with this bag as a consolation prize:

It’s been a lovely day – now I’m really looking forward to visiting another show at Whitstable next weekend!

Hi thank you for your comments about the 2011 HOKH Maidstone Quilt Show. I would just like to correct the misunderstanding in your description. The show is run by Sandra Rocco and not Hearty Quilters. Volunteers come from Hearty Quilters, Castle Wall, Bears Paw, Pieceful Patchers, whose help is greatly appreciated.

Sorry about that Sandra! We appreciate all the hard work involved and the chance to show our quilts. Looking forward to next year! 🙂
