I’ve actually made 3 of these “granny bags”, as demonstrated at my local quilt group by Chrissie. However, I only have pics of 2! The first was made from a curtain remnant and lined with the lining that came with it – pretty lightweight but I figured it could then be folded up as an extra shopper. It went to my mum for her birthday earlier this month.

The second one was also from a remnant  ( I love the bargain bin at Dunelm Mill!) but this time from a heavyweight laminated fabric. This one went to my sister as a late birthday present:

Then on Monday, I decided to try my luck with some thin vinyl. This one got lined in a heavy calico (the blue one didn’t!)

As this one is lined, I put a pocket inside. We’ll see how it wears, although it has yet to have an outing!

Maybe the next one will be for me…:)

About sheppeylass

Mum of 4, I live on the Isle of Sheppey in Kent. I've always sewn but the quilting bug snagged me a couple of years ago and now, with the encouragement of my artist husband, I'm spreading my wings into textile art.
