Mother’s Day

I was woken early with a breakfast tray by my 6 yr old, including this glass of flowers from the garden. Then off to church for church parade – Isabella is a Rainbow. On Mothering Sunday, all the children are given a posy of daffodils to give their mums so here are mine:

After church, I was presented with this handmade lemon drizzle cake by Cali- the effort that went into it was very much appreciated (as was the vacuuming later too!)

My eldest is back at uni again after a short visit home but she left a parcel for me, with some card-making bits and barley sugars to top up the jar I had at Christmas. Her little brother ( all 6 ft of him!) came home late in the evening for his Easter break, complete with a bunch of irises. He knows I love them so had tried several florists before settling for white ones:

Whatever the colour, I love them – wish they would grow in the garden here but there’s too much clay with saltwater too close to the surface. So I make the most of them in springtime.

Hope you all had a lovely day too! πŸ™‚

About sheppeylass

Mum of 4, I live on the Isle of Sheppey in Kent. I've always sewn but the quilting bug snagged me a couple of years ago and now, with the encouragement of my artist husband, I'm spreading my wings into textile art.
