Some new efforts

I made this postcard box from a gorgeous piece of batik and foiled the lettering. It’s for a give-away on one of my forums – think I’ll have to make another one if anyone actually wants it!:)

This is a birthday block for Joan at Bright Headland Quilters. We make blocks for those who have an “0” at the end of their age and Joan’s birthday is in October.  Joan requested country colours. The next block is a variation and is for Gabi’s birthday next month. She suppliedthe fabrics- see how different they are!

I’ve been following the Square Dance series in Popular Patchwork magazine. This is the fabric manipulation from last month: I have plans for this!

I’ve also been making postcards but those are for swaps so here is a small wallhanging I made earlier this year but have only just got around to taking a snap of:

I need to get busy this week as I have  sleeves to put on a couple of quilts for entry to the Hearty Quilt Show at Aylesford Priory this weekend….. hope you have fun sewing this week too!

About sheppeylass

Mum of 4, I live on the Isle of Sheppey in Kent. I've always sewn but the quilting bug snagged me a couple of years ago and now, with the encouragement of my artist husband, I'm spreading my wings into textile art.
