Some new pics!

This is the bag I’ve made from Kelly Rachel’s Sewalong. Sorry for the blurry pic but the light doesn’t seem to be too good tonight.  The tip for turning the handles with ribbon was very helpful but I found the  quilting rather hard work as there’s no wadding involved – instead the 3 layers are the top fabric, fused interfacing then heavy pelmet interfacing. It’s made a lovely sturdy bag, though  and something I will try again.

I received a Rainbow ATC from Jo last week. This is Yellow :

This is the block I sent Jan for our Sew-a-Row Swap : My theme is traditional blocks and Jan asked for bright colours with blue backgrounds. I received a row from Ang with birds and birdhouses but I’m not sure where the pic for that is so you’ll have to wait! I’ve already made and posted the second round of this swap as I was on a roll this weekend. I’ll put up a pic once Jytte has received it  but I think she is away from home at the moment.

DH has quite a collection of colourful waistcoats that I’ve made over the years. As I was pushed for time and it was his birthday last weekend, I used a sketch he’d done of K-9 and appliqued it onto the back of a purchased waistcoat.

This is the postcard I sent Dusie for the Alphabet Swap – C is for colour and crazy!

And finally, I sent this one to Jax as a Black and White postcard swap :

About sheppeylass

Mum of 4, I live on the Isle of Sheppey in Kent. I've always sewn but the quilting bug snagged me a couple of years ago and now, with the encouragement of my artist husband, I'm spreading my wings into textile art.

Hi! Thanks so much for visiting my blog and no, you are definitely not too late to enter the give away. Your favorite summer activity sounds delightful…. I wish I was only two streets away from the ocean! I also wanted to let you know that you forgot to include your e-mail address in your post. If you wouldn’t mind, please e-mail me again and include your address so I’ll be able to contact you if you win! Thanks so much.

The bag you made from that sew-along is adorable. A friend sent me some of those same fabrics and I’m trying to decide how to use them. Maybe a patchwork bag is the answer!

Thanks again, and please visit me anytime!
