Well, I’ve been thinking about doing this for a while now so I’ve finally bitten the bullet, so as to speak, and here I am!
I’ll be posting about my experiments, pieces I make for swaps with forum groups, and probably about my family as well. I’m not too technologically-minded, though, so forgive me for lapses, in particular getting pictures uploaded!
The above is a small wallhanging I made last weekend at a day class with one of the groups I belong too, Pieceful Patchers. Every so often, we hire a hall and one of the members leads a class, or you can use the time to catch up on your own projects. I’ve only been a member since last year but it’s been fun to escape for the odd day and do something different. I chose black and white for this piece as I couldn’t find my Christmas fabrics…the requirements list suggested 36 different fabrics and I was horrified to find I had almost 40 different b+w fat quarters! I didn’t use them all but I’m very happy with the results. It was pin – basted and I’d started quilting at the class then I finished it that night. I think my son may end up with it for his room at uni next year, if he does well enough in the summer’s A2 – levels! 🙂
